On 5th February CIBSE and YEN Yorkshire Centre are providing the opportunity for both members and non-members to learn about the procedures and policy of the CIBSE membership, whilst also getting advice/thoughts from recruiters on key topics.
The first part of the event shall consist of a presentation and briefing by Vanessa Ahmetaj, Membership Officer from CIBSE HQ. We shall also facilitate an excellent open forum where all burning membership issues can be addressed.
Following the above briefing there shall have some presentations from some local speakers, who shall be talking to us about the current market, CV preparation, training within employment, employee retention initiatives and similar topics.
During the session, information shall be provided on a wide range of subjects related to membership applications, including:
- CIBSE Membership and Engineering Council requirements and application routes
- The application process
- How to prepare an Engineering Practice Report
- The Professional Review and Competence Review; how to prepare and what to expect from the interview.
- Career Planning
- CV writing
- Interview preparation
- Safe use of social media
- personal development and CPD
· CIBSE Yorkshire region are then happy to sponsor drinks for attendees at the bar, where hopefully membership and career focused discussions will propagate.
